Winter Safety for Kids Printable | 29-Page Snow and Ice Safety Workbook Ages 5–8 | Sledding Layers Cold Weather Activities

Ten winter safety rules in ten calm stories - layers, mittens, sledding, thin ice - then practice and promise.

Nora and Eli enjoy a snowy day. Over 29 pages they learn to dress in layers, wear a hat, mittens and boots, pack a dry pair, sled with a grown-up, pick a gentle hill, wear a helmet, sit up and go feet first, stay off untested ice, go in when shivering and tell a grown-up. Every scene is a happy practice day. Every rule comes from a named health source.

WHO IT IS FOR
Ages 5 - 8 · Kindergarten - 2nd grade · parents, homeschoolers, kindergarten to 2nd grade teachers, winter units, scout groups, after-school programs.

WHERE THE FACTS COME FROM
Every rule comes from Nemours KidsHealth or HealthyChildren.org, the American Academy of Pediatrics. Page 28 lists which source sits behind each rule.

HONEST NOTE
This book teaches rules and gives children words for them. It does not replace a grown-up. Grown-ups choose the clothes, pick the hill and decide when ice is tested.
