THE STEPS
1. Checking In - A checkup starts by checking in at the front desk.
2. Feeling Nervous Is OK - It is okay to feel nervous, and you can say so.
3. On the Scale - The nurse checks how tall you are and how much you weigh.
4. Listening to the Heart - A stethoscope lets the doctor listen to your heart and lungs.
5. Ears and Mouth - The doctor looks in your ears, mouth, and throat too.
6. The Little Hammer - A gentle tap below the knee checks how your muscles work.
7. Lots of Questions - You can ask the doctor questions too, any time you want.
8. Wash Your Hands - Wash your hands with soap and water to stay healthy.
9. All Done, Feeling Proud - Feel proud after a checkup, since you were brave and helpful.
10. See You Next Time - Regular checkups help the doctor see how you are growing.
